Local Governing Body Membership Information

Daniel Milton –  Chair 

Daniel is Acting Head Teacher at St Bede’s. He has undertaken a number of roles and responsibilities at St Bede’s including the leadership of the school’s Senior Pastoral Team, Assessment and Reporting and the later stages of the Building Schools for the Future project. For the past two years he has been the strategic lead for curriculum design, timetable and the school budget. He is currently studying for his NPQH qualification.

Sharon Roscoe – Governor

As Chief Executive of the EPT, Sharon project managed the successful opening of The Heights Blackburn, Eden School and The Heights Burnley. She led the academy conversion for Coal Clough Academy, Burnley and Pleckgate High School, Blackburn. Sharon was formerly chief executive of the Education Improvement Partnership (EIP), a formal collaboration between all secondary phase schools in Blackburn with Darwen which raised educational outcomes, developed business links and delivered national education conferences. She was Vice Chair of the governing body for a primary school which was judged as outstanding by Ofsted. Sharon worked as Strategic Manager (Operations) for CXL and Area Manager for Connexions Lancashire Ltd. She graduated as MBA in 2011 from Lancaster University.

Steve Wilson – Governor

Steve is a Governor on the Board of Coal Clough Academy. His day job is as Headteacher of Pendle Vale College in Nelson for over ten years, which was judged to be ‘Good’ by Ofsted in December 2016. He is also on the Governing Body of Barrowford Primary School and The Alternative School (TAS). He has taught in three Pendle schools, Primet High School in Colne (13 years, 12 as Head of Maths and two as Assistant Headteacher), Mansfield High School in Brierfield (6 years, 5 as Deputy Headteacher and 1 as Acting Headteacher) and 10 years at Pendle Vale College.

Asad Mushtaq – Governor

Asad has been Head of Finance at Burnley Borough Council since January 2017, overseeing the organisation’s finances as Chief Finance Officer.  Prior to this he was Finance Manager at Westminster City Council and Senior Accountant at Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council, working with local schools in the area as part of the Private Finance Initiative (PFI) scheme.  He is a qualified accountant and has been working in local government since 2006.

Marco Chung – Governor

Marco is a Technical Architect for Chess  ICT based in Burnley, Lancashire.  Marco has worked within various private and public sector organisations focusing on ICT service delivery including infrastructure and operational support.

Anna Duxbury – Governor

Anna is a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Tutor at Lancaster University. Anna works for the Lancashire Emotional Health in Schools Service, a service that provides support and training to Lancashire school staff on issues relating to young people’s mental health.  Anna has experience of working in child and family services and has a high level of knowledge around child mental health, how this presents in schools, and knowledge and experience of employing a range of effective therapeutic techniques and approaches that schools could use to improve the mental health of pupils.
